Louvre Reopens After €88 Million Crown Jewel Heist Shocks France
The Louvre Museum reopened on Wednesday, three days after thieves stole eight French Crown Jewels from its Galerie d’Apollon in a daylight raid lasting less than ten minutes. The items, valued at around €88 million, included the Crown of Empress Eugénie, later found damaged outside the museum. The Regent Diamond was untouched. French prosecutors have launched an international hunt, and INTERPOL has listed the stolen jewels in its global stolen-art database.
