London hit by thousands of lightning strikes

Spectacular thunderstorms swept across London overnight, causing thousands of lightning strikes and flash floods that woke many from their sleep. London Fire Brigade took around 400 calls and attended two house fires thought to be from lightning. Flooding also caused Elizabeth line disruption at Heathrow Terminal 4.
