London heatwave is putting hearts under strain

More people in London had cardiac arrests this week as the heat built up on buses and trains, the head of London Ambulance Service has said. On Wednesday the city hit 35.1C and 999 calls jumped to around 8,000, the busiest day for life-threatening emergencies the service has ever had. Friday could reach nearly 36C, which would be the hottest June day London has ever seen.
