London cardiac arrests up 30% in heatwave

London Ambulance Service saw a 30% jump in cardiac arrest calls during the recent heatwave compared to a typical Wednesday in June. They responded to a record 642 life-threatening emergencies on Wednesday, the hottest June day on record. Paramedics urged people to drink plenty of water and avoid the sun between 11am and 3pm.
