London airport rail passengers warned after platform falls rise 43%
Passengers travelling on trains serving London airports were advised in August 2026 to exercise increased caution, following a reported rise in incidents where individuals had fallen between platforms and trains. Greater Thameslink Railway reported 93 such incidents this year, a 43% increase compared to the same period in 2025. Rushing and taking luggage on escalators are common causes.
