London: 1 million homes face high overheating risk.
Over a million London homes, plus many schools and hospitals, face a high risk of overheating, with the capital expecting two to three times more heatwaves soon. City Hall's new "Heat Ready London" plan warns that last year's heatwaves cost the city about £1.5bn. London is often the UK's hottest place because dark surfaces absorb more solar radiation.
