Lawmaker sues xAI: Can AI firms be liable for deepfakes?
People affected by fake sexual images could see a court test of whether an AI firm's design choices can lead to legal responsibility. On Wednesday, Labour lawmaker Jess Asato filed a case against Elon Musk's xAI, saying Grok was used to make false sexualised pictures of her. She is seeking damages, a ruling on legality and an order to stop further misconduct involving the chatbot.
