Labour opens conference four points ahead of Reform in new poll

Labour's conference opened in Liverpool on Sunday under the slogan Hope Again, with an eve-of-conference Opinium poll putting the party on 28%, four points ahead of Reform. Deputy leader Lucy Powell and First Secretary of State Louise Haigh addressed members on the opening day. Andy Burnham, who replaced Keir Starmer in July, gives his first conference speech as prime minister on Tuesday.
