Labour leaders tell MPs: Stop 'hostile' anonymous briefings
Voters and former councillors are being drawn into Labour’s public arguments after poor election results in Scotland, Wales and English councils. Yvette Cooper and Jonathan Reynolds told MPs to stop hostile anonymous comments and treat colleagues respectfully during internal debates. Some unnamed briefings described Wes Streeting as having “bottled” a leadership attempt, while others criticised MPs elected in 2024 as inexperienced.
