King Charles Gives Scotland World Cup Day Off

Many Scottish fans could get extra time to celebrate or rest after their team’s opening World Cup match, although plenty will still be at work. King Charles approved a one-off bank holiday on 15 June 2026 after a proposal from John Swinney. Scotland’s first finals appearance since 1998 begins against Haiti, with kick-off scheduled for 2am in the UK.
