Kemi Badenoch says AI firms may leave Britain
Better conditions for technology businesses could affect future jobs and investment across Britain. Speaking at the Politics UK Summit in Westminster on Monday evening, Kemi Badenoch said excessive rules, high industrial electricity costs and limited access to capital could push AI companies elsewhere. UK startups secured $17bn in venture funding during the first half of 2026, including $12.6bn for AI firms.
