JLR electric car batteries delayed by Somerset factory

The £5.2 billion factory in Somerset, crucial for JLR's new electric models, is now facing significant construction problems. Agratas, the battery maker owned by JLR's parent company Tata, has sacked its main builder, pushing the start date back again. The plant, backed by £380 million in government subsidies, is now feared to miss its January 2028 opening.
