Jet2 holiday flight turns back to Manchester after cockpit fumes detected

A Jet2 flight bound for Palma de Mallorca was forced to return to Manchester Airport on Tuesday night after its crew reported fumes in the cockpit. The Boeing 737-800 had taken off at 10:15 PM but issued an emergency code just five minutes later, halting its climb at 10,000 feet. It landed safely back in Manchester 35 minutes after departure, where emergency services met the aircraft, but no injuries were reported.
