Jeff Bezos is close to buying a third of Liverpool Football Club
The Amazon billionaire has joined an investor group that could announce the agreement later this week. Led by businessman Amit Bhatia and including Facebook co-founder Eduardo Saverin, the syndicate wants to purchase a share of slightly over 30%. Their investment gives the team a reported $6bn price tag, securing a huge return for current owners Fenway Sports Group who paid £300m in 2010.
