JD Sports names former IKEA head Peter Agnefjäll as its new chairman
He officially starts the job on 1 September, stepping in following Andrew Higginson's sudden departure from the role in July. The British sportswear chain confirmed the appointment on Friday, noting that Agnefjäll also previously chaired Ahold Delhaize, a large supermarket group. Meanwhile, interim boss Darren Shapland is staying with the business to serve as an independent director.
