Japan's Sakana launches AI that combines top models
Rather than rely on one model, it spreads each task across several others, pitched as a hedge if a provider gets cut off. Tokyo startup Sakana AI launched the system, called Fugu, on Monday, pitching it as frontier AI without the export-control risk. Sakana claims it rivals top models, including Anthropic's, but the benchmarks are self-reported and sceptics call it a wrapper.
