Israel strikes Syria airbase, Turkey accuses Netanyahu of election ploy

Israeli airstrikes hit the Abu al-Dahar airbase in northern Syria; Israel stated its objective was to target a Turkish military buildup it perceived as a threat. Turkey called the Israeli account “untenable” and accused Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu of “expansionist and destabilizing policies” before the October election.
