Israel built secret Iraq base for Iran war, WSJ

Israel built a clandestine military base in Iraq's western desert to support its air campaign against Iran, the Wall Street Journal reported on Saturday citing US officials. The outpost housed Israeli special forces and search-and-rescue teams, and Israeli aircraft launched strikes against Iraqi troops who came close to discovering it in March, killing one Iraqi soldier. Iraq filed a UN complaint over the incident at the time.
