Is the Iran war hitting drivers at the pump?
American drivers are paying significantly more, with some reports indicating increases of 30-40% since the war began in late February, and prices have risen by 11 cents in the past week. Pump prices peaked at $4.56 a gallon in early May, then eased after June's ceasefire. The Strait of Hormuz carried 20 million barrels of oil daily before the fighting, and traffic has not recovered.
