Iran reportedly tracked US troops using smartphone location data

Iran-linked actors allegedly exploited Signalling System No. 7 (SS7), a global telecommunications protocol used to route mobile calls and locate roaming phones, along with commercial smartphone location data to track US troops and contractors across the Middle East, according to the Financial Times. US Central Command said it had received multiple reports of adversaries exploiting commercial location data to monitor American personnel.
