Iran rejects reports of Kharg Island oil leak
Concerns over possible pollution in the Gulf grew after satellite images appeared to show a large slick near Iran’s main oil export hub. Iran’s Oil Terminals Company said inspections found no evidence of leakage near Kharg Island, while a regional marine pollution group also reported no spill in the area. Windward estimated the suspected slick covered dozens of square kilometres and was moving about 2km each hour.
