Iran Keeps Hormuz Shut as US Blockade and Peace Talks Both Stall

The Strait of Hormuz will remain closed, Iran's parliamentary speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf announced Wednesday, blaming a US naval blockade and Israeli "warmongering" as ceasefire violations. President Masoud Pezeshkian echoed that threats and blockades block genuine negotiations. Iran separately seized two cargo ships in the strait, further escalating tensions amid stalled US-Iran peace talks.
