Iran declares EU armies terrorist groups in retaliation for IRGC ban
Tehran has formally designated European Union armed forces as “terrorist organisations”, describing the move as retaliation for the bloc’s decision to blacklist Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps. Iran’s parliamentary speaker condemned the EU action as illegal and politically driven. European Parliament president Roberta Metsola welcomed the designation of the IRGC as a significant step. Meanwhile, the UK is moving towards outlawing the group, adding to growing Western pressure on Iran following its crackdown on nationwide protests.
