India's Skyroot launches first private orbital rocket Vikram-1

Indian space startup Skyroot Aerospace successfully launched its Vikram-1 rocket on Saturday, making India the third country with private orbital launch capability. The rocket, named after Vikram Sarabhai, carried six payloads into a 450km low-Earth orbit. The Vikram-1 mission marks a significant step for India's private space sector, which opened to private investment in 2020.
