Indian arrested after Russian oil tanker seized

British authorities have reportedly seized a Russian-linked oil tanker for the first time as part of sanctions enforcement linked to the war in Ukraine. Following the interception of the vessel Smyrtos in the English Channel, an Indian national was detained by officers from the National Crime Agency and Royal Marines due to suspected sanctions breaches. The tanker is now being held off the coast of Dorset while investigations continue.
