Iceland supermarket mocks management consultants in a website cartoon over £16m fees
The image shows the frozen food chain as a failing rowing crew held back by its corporate advisers. A company spokesperson said the early 2000s project went completely wrong when outside experts tried to turn the shops into convenience stores. The retailer now calls this troubled period the dark ages, noting that expensive managers cut jobs while pocketing extra payouts.
