How 'hate incident' rules shaped Henry Nowak's arrest

Public trust in policing was at the centre of a debate after questions were raised about how officers responded before Henry Nowak’s death. Speaking on 9 June, Kemi Badenoch said officers who arrested him had been trained under guidance that placed extra focus on reported hate incidents. She said she met Nowak’s family last week and argued equality law has shaped public bodies beyond policing.
