How did Ronnie O'Sullivan open his season?

With a 6-1 win over China's Liu Linhao, Ronnie O'Sullivan opened the 2026 Shanghai Masters in the first round on Monday. Nicknamed the Rocket, the five-time champion, who last won the event in 2023, made breaks of 75, 73, 71 and 55 at the Luwan Gymnasium. He next meets reigning champion Kyren Wilson for a place in the last 16.
