Heathrow warns flights will cost more after its half-year tax bill doubles
The west London airport saw its payments to the taxman jump to £129m between January and June. Chief executive Thomas Woldbye warned that further charges in the autumn Budget will simply make tickets more expensive for holidaymakers. The hub already needs to fund a £49bn third runway, which might push individual traveller fees up to £52.
