Heathrow passengers will pay an extra 15p to fund a new runway
The CAA, Britain's aviation watchdog, has set a £320 million limit on early design spending for the £33 billion project. The hub is entirely full, so the government wants a fresh runway operating 15 miles west of London by 2035. The new charge starts in 2028 and should reach roughly 30p later on, despite airline warnings about already high fees.
