The EFS, France's public blood transfusion service, supplies more than 1,900 hospitals, and the hacked cold stores were run by its contractors. Hackers raised temperature and defrost settings to "very high levels" overnight on Monday, but alarms let technicians step in before anything was damaged. Plasma bags were moved to other sites, and France's national cybersecurity agency, ANSSI, has been alerted.
