Graphene can hold multiple superconducting states, study finds
MIT researchers have discovered that a specific structure of graphene, atomically thin layers of graphite, can host several forms of superconductivity. These surprising new states actually intensify when subjected to magnetic fields, which would ordinarily eliminate superconductivity. This uncovers an unprecedented class of unconventional superconducting states within what was previously considered a straightforward material.
