Government to ban trans conversion practices

Abusive conversion practices are set to be outlawed, addressing long-standing concerns about harmful treatments. The King's Speech confirmed the Government's commitment to new legislation, following Labour's manifesto pledge for a full trans-inclusive ban. Andy Bell from the Centre for Mental Health stated on 13 May 2026 that the proposed Bill must be trans-inclusive.
