Government 'strongly minded' to nationalise British Steel

The government says it's "strongly minded" to fully nationalise British Steel, which has been under its control since April 2025. An industry minister confirmed on Thursday that a nationalisation bill has passed the Commons and is now in the Lords. Around £555 million in taxpayer funds has already kept steel production going in Scunthorpe.
