Google scraps unreleased AI Studio app after 800,000 pre-orders

Google decided to drop the standalone software after nearly 800,000 users signed up for early access on Android and iOS devices. The company announced the U-turn on X, explaining that app-building tools will instead launch inside the Gemini app. Meanwhile, the AI Studio web version will remain active and continue receiving updates.
