Google says AI now writes 75% of code
Google just revealed how deeply it is betting on AI to write its own software. At Google Cloud Next 2026 in Las Vegas on Wednesday, CEO Sundar Pichai said 75% of all new code at Google is now AI-generated and approved by engineers, up from 50% last autumn. Pichai also announced the eighth generation of Google's Tensor Processing Units alongside new agentic AI tools for enterprise customers.
