Google buys 1.6 GW solar power from Arkansas project

Google has agreed to buy all the electricity from a massive solar project in Arkansas to help offset its carbon emissions. The Steel River Energy Center will produce 1.6 gigawatts of solar power and 2 gigawatts of battery storage when it starts in 2029. The Steel River Energy Center's power is enough to supply 315,000 homes.
