This summer's slimmed-down Commonwealth Games in Glasgow generated £223 million of economic activity across Scotland, an independent evaluation commissioned by organisers says. The Glasgow city region gained £158.6 million. The 11-day Games cost about £160 million to stage, far less than Birmingham's £944 million in 2022, by using existing venues and staging only 10 sports. Ahmedabad in India will host the next Games in 2030.
