Ghanaian hand-painted film posters are now collectible art
Hand-painted film posters, central to Ghanaian cinema from the late 1970s through the early 2000s, are currently attracting worldwide attention as collectible art. Artists often exaggerated plot lines with humorous and surreal imagery to attract audiences to local video clubs. Deadly Prey Gallery, co-founded in 2012 by Robert Kofi, works with 15 artists to connect them with online customers.
