Germany's AfD wins Saxony-Anhalt election with 43.8% but misses majority
The anti-immigration Alternative für Deutschland (AfD) won 43.8% of the vote in Saxony-Anhalt on Sunday, more than doubling its support from five years ago. The AfD's win makes it the first far-right party to win a German state election since World War Two, but it fell three seats short of an absolute majority.
