A drone packed with explosives was found near an Antonov aircraft handling military deliveries on 4 August. Chancellor Friedrich Merz told television viewers on Sunday that his government will outline its reaction shortly, working alongside NATO allies. The Die Welt newspaper claims ministers intend to formally blame Russia and introduce joint European sanctions within days.
