Germany challenged Gaza genocide claims, ICJ to decide jurisdiction next
The International Court of Justice will first decide if it has jurisdiction in the case, after Germany argued on Monday that Nicaragua's filing against “Germany’s arm export” was improper. Proceedings at the UN's top court can take years, with a similar case against Israel not expected to be heard until late 2029. Judges previously rejected Nicaragua's emergency request to halt German arms exports to Israel in 2024.
