Gatwick loses water: Why a treatment plant fault stopped toilets flushing

Flights are still taking off normally, but workers across both terminals have been giving out bottled water. SES Water, the company supplying the site, blamed a problem at its Bough Beech treatment plant for the sudden loss of pressure. The fault has also cut off supplies to homes in nearby Horley, and travellers reported they couldn't even buy a coffee.
