G7 Considers More Sanctions on Iran Amid Protest Crackdown

The G7, including Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, the UK, the US, and the EU, has expressed grave concerns regarding Iran's suppression of protests. Citing numerous deaths and injuries, the G7 condemns the violence against protesters and warns of potential additional sanctions if Iran continues violating international human rights obligations. The EU is also considering further sanctions. The UN Security Council will hold an emergency meeting to discuss the situation, following a request by the United States.
