FTSE 100 falls as Iran conflict pushes oil above $90 a barrel

Brent crude rose above $90 a barrel after reports said tankers were being immobilised in the Strait of Hormuz, raising fresh worries about inflation and interest rates. London's FTSE 100 dropped 0.5% on Monday, while investors also watched Andy Burnham take office as Britain's new prime minister after replacing Keir Starmer. Ryanair shares fell 7.2% after the airline reported a one-third drop in first-quarter profit and warned summer fares could stay under pressure.
