Film board uses AI, cinema ratings hit record high

Britain's film classification board, the BBFC, employed artificial intelligence to assist in rating streaming content, marking its initial use of such technology. This happened during a record-breaking year where they classified 1,315 feature films for cinemas in 2025, their highest ever. The AI tool assisted compliance officers with HBO Max content, but didn't make final age rating decisions.
