Faster universe expansion rewrites cosmic future
Questions about the universe’s future have grown after researchers found space is spreading quicker than current theories predict. An international team confirmed the updated measurement last year, with findings later published in Astronomy and Astrophysics. Scientists said a galaxy 3 million light-years from Earth moves away at 46 miles per second, while one twice as distant recedes at about 90 miles per second.
