Family attic silver sells for almost £60,000
Almost £60,000 was generated at auction by over 100 antique silver items, which had been hidden in a family's attic in Edinburgh for nearly a century before their discovery. The collection, which originated between the early 18th and early 20th centuries, substantially surpassed its anticipated sale price of up to £23,000. The most expensive piece was a set of Danish cutlery, which fetched £5,200.
