Facebook, Instagram stop working for thousands

A major worldwide service disruption affected Instagram and Facebook, as indicated by reports from tens of thousands of users. The apps, owned by Meta, began having issues around 10pm in the UK on Wednesday, with users unable to load profiles or new pictures. Tracking website Down Detector recorded at least 10,000 reports for Facebook and 18,000 for Instagram.
