Ex-Reform MP Started Racist Slur Online but Cleared of Breaking Rules

UK Parliament, CC BY 3.0, via Wikimedia Commons

A Commons committee has found former Reform UK MP James McMurdock posted the letter "N" on X and started a racial slur, rejecting his claims that a child posted it or it was accidental. The Standards Committee cleared him of breaching MPs' rules, saying it could not prove intent. Veterans minister Calvin Bailey was found to have made a minor breach by lobbying the watchdog.
